The Grumpy Mesh Board is a dummy product page for a compact, high-output MeshCore board. It is intended to become the home for final specifications, assembly notes, and ordering information.
Built by the community
This board was built by the Gulf Coast Mesh community, on what has been learned on from over 300 repeater deployments.
Power management
The board accepts a 5v input for power, either via USB or the 5v power connector. When you purchuse a Grumpy Mesh Board, you'll recieve a waveshare solar controller, and all the cables needed to connect it to the board.
Once connected, The board will be able to not only be powered via a battery with solar. But also be able to monitor the voltage of the battery, unlike every other repeater out there that uses a external solar board.
The advantages of this, is a robust, and reliable repeater. The board can fully drain out it's battiers in the rare event of no sun for days, and still auto recover when sun comes back.
Wi-Fi and OTA updates
The board also includes an external antenna for your board, but it also allows you to add any wifi antenna with a ipex connector; For long range over the air updates.
Expansion port
The board includes a Expansion port, This allowing you to add additional accessories like temperature sensors to monitor your enclosure or outside temperature, a wind sensor, rain sensor, and almost anything you'd like. With open documentation on how to use it, the possibilities are endless.
